A Year In Review

BASEBALL 860 just completed its first year of business and community service efforts. It has been an exciting and eventful year for us. The year was filled with new beginnings, new partnerships, and the delivering of BASEBALL 860’s mission. By the close of the 2016-2017 year we accomplished our goal of developing a presence in the greater Connecticut area as an organization committed to offering life-enhancing programs to children through baseball clinics and Dream Big interactive presentations. We are proud to share the events we organized and coordinated this year:

Dream Big Interactive Presentations:

Dream Big and What’s Your Why?

Our presentation’s message to children of all backgrounds was to discover inspiration and achieve your dreams. We presented at Southeast Elementary School, Meriden Boys and Girls Club, Platt High School Student Athlete Committee, Hartford Police Athletic League (PAL), and St. Augustine Academy in Bridgeport

Baseball Clinics:

Non-profit baseball clinics covering different aspects of the game

These clinics offered participants advanced training and the understanding of baseball fundamentals. They included a focus on character development through sport. We ran clinics at New London High School, New Britain High School, Glastonbury High School, Platt High School and Trumbull High School.

Tracy’s Red Box Toy Donation Drive:

Donation Drive for The Connecticut Children’s Medical Center

The Glastonbury High School Baseball Team along with Baseball 860 teamed up to help fill a grandmother’s Red Box with toys for children at The Connecticut Children’s Medical Center this past holiday season.

The programs developed in Baseball 860’s inaugural year continue to flourish throughout parts of Connecticut. In the upcoming year, we look to expand our clinics and presentations to reach a greater breadth of children in Connecticut. Corporate interest in strengthening and educating the youth of Connecticut through sport has been increasingly stronger, and we thank our current sponsors for supporting a growing community of young dreamers throughout our home state. We look forward to engaging with more organizations and corporations whose mission and vision for community outreach aligns with ours. As we begin a new year at BASEBALL 860, I welcome your questions and ideas for new collaborations throughout the year.

Sincerely,

Jack Sundberg
